When we talk about drinking here we are not talking about simply lifting a cup to your mouth. Drinking as we define it is anything that adds or detracts from your body water. “Hydrating” you so-to-speak. See our ‘Tips n’ Tricks’ Section for some basic guidelines. With all the options these days as it relates to drinks, we often go for flavour over water. This not only raises our calorie counts but it also ensures a dehydrated populations

The body as a whole is more than 70% water, however, there are parts of the body such as the brain and ‘discs’ in your back which boast 80-90% water. These are usually the parts of your system that suffer most when you are dehydrated. Did you know that stats have shown that more than 70% of ALL people are dehydrated?!

Hydration is a process of figuring our how you can get enough water into your system to be optimally healthy. This doesn’t mean the MOST water… it means being at the best equilibrium between H2O and the mineral salts that maintain ‘osmotic balance’ and pressure within the cells of the body. It’s a way of showing you how to get over a hangover, it’s a process that ensures hikes in productivity and energy levels. Essentially, there are NO drawbacks. Sweating is NOT a bad thing! Its is the easiest way for the human body to control its’ body temperarure!

Lifestyle often stops us from accomplishing these health goals…. Well I’m here to tell you how easy it actually is to do, and how simple it is to add a major component of your health back into the mixture.

Shake out a few old habits and create new routines and rhythms that the body can easily follow. The body and mind can then grasp it and it just….happens, without anybody holding the steering wheel.

Such a small aspect of you life can make such an incredible change to your health. When you start to give the body the fuels and the means to replenish these fuels, it accepts voraciously and the body then has the ability to excel far beyond what people think is possible.

As personal trainers we have benefited immensely from educating ourselves about hydration, and have benefited even more by implementing it into life. Water: Make it available, make it easy for you to get into your system and realize it is one of the ONLY natural things that passes your lips in Nature!

Water is the cradle of life; the life-allowing force. Embrace it. Because you need to!
